VinPro brings vineyard worker training to the wine producer’s doorstep in the form of an extensive series of courses from soil preparation to wine grape harvesting.

The courses are based on the VinPro Training Package, Vineyard Practices for Vineyard Workers. Each module is presented as a separate course and include:

  • Pruning
  • Vineyard establishment
  • Root development
  • Canopy management
  • Soil management
  • Disease and pest management
  • Irrigation
  • Fertilising
  • Harvesting of wine grapes
  • Soil science

The one-day sessions entail both theory and practical, followed by an evaluation. An attendance certificate is issued to those who have completed the course, and NQF level 1 accreditation can be obtained on request.

The respective modules are presented in the following regions from May to November: Olifants River, Robertson, Worcester/Breedekloof, Paarl, Stellenbosch and Swartland.
