Vinpro welcomed new employees to the team over the last few months. Vinpro’er chatted with them about their first few months.

Q: What was your first day at Vinpro like?
A: I was nervous but the day went well and I felt at ease with the place and the people.
Q: How have the first few weeks been here and how have you adjusted?
A: Besides the Paarl heat, I have adjusted quite well within my working environment and have loved the support from my colleagues during this time.
Q: Why did you decide to work here?
A: I saw an opportunity to grow as an individual and to make a change within the wine industry.
Q: What is a typical day at the office like for you?
A: I arrive at the office at about 07:00 (early riser), put my things down and then drink a cup of tea while reading through my to-do list. Then I tackle e-mails and start ticking off my to-do list. And there is always time to have a quick chat with colleagues.
Q: What have you learnt about this organisation since you started working here?
A: The people are kind and always willing to assist. And although I’ve missed it, there are perks during harvest – receiving grapesJ
Q: How would you describe this organisation in one word?
A: Inviting
Q: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
A: Sleeping, wine tastings, reading, watching Netflix and spending time with family and friends. Although currently my free time revolves around wedding planning.
Q: Name something interesting that your new colleagues don’t know about you?
A: I hate cooking, but absolutely love cleaning.
Q: What is the nerdiest thing you do in your spare time?
A: Occasionally, I play Pokémon Go with my fiancé.
Q: What’s the strangest talent you have?
A: I can sleep with my eyelids half open when I am really tired.
Q: Are you reading anything right now or do you prefer series?
A: Both, I love reading – I am currently reading various crime thrillers, written by Blake Pierce. But a good series on Netflix is my biggest weakness.
Q: Any good movies you’d recommend?
A: August Rush
Q: What’s the best advice you’ve ever heard?
A: Live life to the fullest!
