Vinpro is excited to announce the appointment of Dr Etienne Terblanche as the new Vinpro Consultation Services Manager. Etienne follows in the footsteps of Conrad Schutte, who has taken up the position as CEO of Vinpro from June 1.
Etienne has had a stellar career honing his skills in winemaking and viticulture through various positions at home and abroad after graduating from Stellenbosch University in 2008. An appetite for knowledge fuelled further studies in viticulture in France and culminated in a PhD from Stellenbosch University. On a practical level Etienne sharpened his secateurs as viticulturist at Delheim Wines in Stellenbosch from 2012 before becoming part of the Vinpro family in 2018, when he started as viticultural consultant for the Stellenbosch and Cape South Coast regions. Since 2022 he has also been contributing through research and teaching as an extraordinary lecturer in Viticulture at Stellenbosch University.
“I am very excited about this new challenge,” says Etienne. “I look forward to this new chapter in my career where I believe my skills and knowledge of viticulture will play a strategic role also in this new chapter Vinpro is entering.”
“We are looking forward to working with Etienne in his new role,” says Anton Smuts, Vinpro Chairman. “Etienne, who has been part of the Vinpro family for some time and has a strong technical background, is the perfect person to manage the consultation services department with excellence. He will play a pivotal role in the new direction the Vinpro group is taking to work collaboratively with SA Wine while rendering technical production and specialised services, as well as plant improvement and the information needs of our wine producers. We wish him all the best in his new role.”
